Templates – The Building Blocks of Knowledge

Templates are the fundamental knowledge units in the Knowledge Hub.

  • A template can be very large (e.g., an entire machine) or very small (e.g., a single component or assembly).

  • Within a template, knowledge is managed: error knowledge and routines are stored here.

  • This allows your team’s knowledge base to be structured flexibly and effectively.

Chains – Connecting Knowledge

With chains, you can connect templates with each other.

  • This makes it possible to represent cross-cutting error patterns.

  • Example: Assemblies belong to a machine, and several machines belong to a production line.

Machines – Accessing Knowledge

Machines control access to the stored knowledge.

  • From templates or linkages, any number of machines can be created – each one matching a physical machine.

  • This ensures full traceability of what happens on which machine.

Metadata – Structuring Knowledge

Metadata helps to organize knowledge even more effectively:

  • Examples: labels, tools, skills, or personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Metadata can be assigned specifically to causes, symptoms and routines.

  • Template types can also be defined and managed here, making the knowledge base more structured and easier to navigate.
